04 April 2017 – Atlanta, Georgia United States Recipients of the 2016 DAMA International Awards were honored today at the 21st Annual Enterprise Data World (EDW) in Atlanta, Georgia United States. The Enterprise Data World Conference (EDW) is recognized as the most comprehensive educational conference on data management in the world.
The annual award recognizes organizations or individuals who have made significant contributions to data management principles. Sue Geuens, President of DAMA International, presented the awards.
Katherine O’Keefe received the first award. Katherine is from Ireland. As a relative newcomer in the profession, she has already made her impact felt internationally; the future of Data Management is assured. Katherine is on the DAMA International board as VP of Professional Development and a member of DAMA Ireland.
Salah Kamel was recognized for his dedication and creative drive of cutting edge technologies to enhance the field of Data Management. Kamel is the CEO and founder of Semarchy.
Donna Burbank was recognized for her many years of dedication to the profession of Data Management and the respect in which her peers hold her. Donna is the past president of DAMA Rocky Mountain.
