The timeline for implementing the new bylaws has been carefully planned to ensure a smooth transition from the current state.
October 2023 – May 2024
By-law Committee was formed. Regular information about the new bylaws was provided at the Presidents Council with active consultation requesting input and clarifying questions.
June 2, 2024
The DAMA International Board passed Resolution 134 - 2024 to adopt the new bylaws to be effective on September 1, 2024.
July 2024
Launch of the “Embrace the Evolution: Transforming DAMA International!” website.
November 2023 – August 2024
Active consultation with the DAMA Chapters and Central Members.
September 1, 2024
The new by-laws become effective, with exceptions for the board transition timeline and the transition from the Election Committee to the Governance and Nominations Committee.
After September 1, 2024
All Individual Central Members will become Individual Professional Members and will be notified of the change and impact.
The Governance and Nominations Committee will not be effective until January 1, 2025, to allow a smooth transition from the current Elections Committee after the 2024 fall election cycle ends.
A Certification Council will be formed, managing the DAMA International certification program.
The election process according to the new- bylaws will start in 2025 and Individual Professional Members will be actively engaged in the nominations and election process.
