DAMA DMBOK 2.0 Revision – Maintenance Release
The 2024 Revision of the DAMA-DMBOK 2.0 ® is a maintenance release. This maintenance release includes terminology updates, minor structural refinements, and improved representations, reflecting developments in practice and aligning more closely with the Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) ® examination. No material changes were made to the overarching data management framework, knowledge areas, or their definitions.

- Streamlined Concepts: Content has been reordered and simplified to improve comprehension and navigation.
- Data Management Roles
- Data Integration Developer: Replaces the generic "Interface Developer" to better reflect current industry roles.
- Inclusion of Data Scientists: Recognized as key data consumers, especially in analytics and integration.
- Updated Data Owner Definition: Now explicitly defined as a business person accountable for decisions within a domain.
- Data Governance Updates
- Terminology Change: “Data governance program” is now referred to as the “data governance function”.
- AI Governance and Ethics: Ethical considerations and governance practices for AI have been integrated.
- Data Asset Valuation: Updated to define data as an “intangible asset” rather than a “non-fungible item”.
