CDMP® Exam Proctoring Requirements
DAMA International® has approved new CDMP® proctor policies and procedures. This page is the official reference for which exam events may use human proctors, which must use Honorlock online proctoring, and what is required of proctors and Event Coordinators.
It applies to DAMA® Member Chapters, DAMA International® events, Registered Education Providers (REPs), private training organizations and any other organization arranging a CDMP® exam sitting.
Who Can Use Human Proctors Proctoring method by event type
Human proctors are used only for the two event categories below. All other CDMP® exam sittings must be organized using Honorlock online proctoring.
DAMA® Member Chapter Events
Exam sittings organized and hosted by an affiliated DAMA® Member Chapter, including PIYP events.
Human proctor or Honorlock, at the chapter's choice for any sitting.
DAMA International® Events
Global DAMA International® conferences and flagship events (for example DMZ and EDW/DGIQ).
Human proctors, provided by DAMA International® staff or board members.
All Other Exam Sittings
Registered Education Providers (REPs), private training organizations and any other non-chapter organization arranging CDMP® exams.
Honorlock only. Human proctors are not permitted.
Honorlock Exam Settings Remote or classroom
The required Honorlock setting depends on where candidates sit the exam. Organizers must confirm the setting with CDMP® Support (support@cdmp.info) when registering the event.
Scenario A: Remote or Home (default)
The "No other people allowed in the room" setting is enabled. Honorlock requires that no one else is present with the test taker, and its AI and live monitoring will flag any additional person seen on the webcam. This applies to every remote sitting unless the classroom setting has been expressly configured.
Scenario B: In-Person Classroom
The classroom setting is enabled and the "no other people in the room" restriction is disabled, so an instructor or teaching assistant may be present. For large groups, Honorlock advises staggering start times in batches of up to 50 candidates, 5 to 10 minutes apart, to manage WiFi load.
This setting must be requested and configured by CDMP® Support before the session opens. It does not apply by default.

These requirements apply to anyone serving as a proctor at a human-proctored sitting, including the Event Coordinator.

Exam Day Essentials For human-proctored sittings
The full step-by-step coordinator workflow for chapter PIYP events is on the PIYP program page.
Identity and Check-in
Each candidate is checked in individually. Proctors verify a government-issued photo ID whose name matches the CDMP® registration, record it on the tracking sheet, confirm enrolment and inspect the workspace. Candidates whose identity cannot be verified cannot be admitted.
Access Code
Kept confidential and released only at the official start, after the standard briefing, once all candidates are at the access code screen. It is never sent to candidates in advance by email, messaging or printed instructions.
Open Book: One Reference
Either the DAMA-DMBOK® or one set of personal notes, in hardcopy or digital form. A digital reference must be on a separate device not connected to the internet or the exam device. ESL candidates may also use browser translation and an English-to-native-language dictionary.
Prohibited
Mobile phones, smartwatches, headphones and hats (cultural headdress excepted), paper notes, internet searches, recording devices, screen sharing, talking to other candidates, and leaving the room during the exam.
Scratch Sheets
Only proctor-issued washable sheets, where provided. Question numbers only, never exam content. Sheets are counted out, collected before candidates leave and reconciled.
Incidents
Report to support@cdmp.info, escalate serious incidents immediately, and submit a written report within 24 hours. DAMA International® conducts the formal review; proctors do not decide misconduct outcomes.
