Code of Conduct for Candidates

Campaigning Rules

To ensure a fair, ethical, and professional election process, all candidates must adhere to DAMA International®’s campaigning guidelines. Candidates are expected to conduct their campaigns with integrity and respect for fellow nominees and the DAMA-I community.

Prohibited Campaign Activities

  • No False or Misleading Statements
    Candidates must ensure that all statements about their qualifications, experience, or other candidates are truthful and accurate. Any misrepresentation may result in disqualification.
  • No Use of DAMA-I Resources for Personal Gain
    Candidates may not use DAMA International®’s communication channels, mailing lists, logos, or financial resources for personal campaigning purposes. All campaign efforts must be conducted independently.
  • No Negative Campaigning
    Campaigning must focus on positive engagement. Personal attacks, defamation, or attempts to undermine other candidates will not be tolerated and may result in disciplinary action by the Governance & Nominations Committee.

Candidate Expectations

All candidates must conduct themselves in a manner that upholds DAMA International®’s mission, values, and ethical standards.

  • Respectful Communication
    Candidates are expected to communicate respectfully with fellow candidates, members, and election officials, both in public forums and private discussions.
  • Follow DAMA’s Ethics & Governance Policies
    All candidates must abide by DAMA International®’s Code of Ethics, Conflict of Interest Policy, and Bylaws throughout the election process.
  • Encourage Fair Participation
    Candidates should promote member engagement in the election while respecting DAMA International®’s policies on neutrality and fairness.

Note: Violations of these rules may be reviewed by the Governance & Nominations Committee, and disciplinary action—including disqualification—may be taken where necessary.
